Kul Bains
Kul holds a Computer Science and Accountancy degree from the University of Manchester and is also a qualified Chartered Public Finance Accountant. He trained as a housing revenue accountant whilst working for Cannock Chase Council and went on to work as a Senior Accountant at Wrekin Council.
Kul relocated to Oxfordshire in 1997 to take up the role as Group Accountant at Oxford City Council, later joining Oxford Citizens Housing Association as their Financial Controller and, subsequently, their Finance Director as they looked to expand their development programme across Oxfordshire.
In 2003, Kul joined WATMOS Community Homes as their Resources Director as part of a new Executive team, to oversee the transfer of stock from Walsall Council. The transfer was an important landmark in the development of tenant empowerment nationally, building on the long-running tradition of tenant management within Walsall. Kul was the project director overseeing the transfer of 1300 homes from Lambeth Council and took the lead on stock transfer negotiations, loan funding, and due diligence.
Kul is a board member of the Matrix Housing partnership and has previously served in a voluntary capacity as a board member of Ashram Housing.
In 2015, Kul became the Chief Executive of Watmos Community Homes.
